SALES LEAD REQUIRED
GOOD CHEMISTRY BREWING IS LOOKING FOR AN ENTHUSIASTIC AND DRIVEN TEAM MEMBER WITH A SOLID TRACK RECORD OF SALES ACHIEVEMENTS, PREFERABLY IN THE BEER INDUSTRY, TO FILL OUR NEWLY CREATED POSITION OF SALES LEAD.
The Directors Kelly & Bob head up a small, close-knit team in Bristol, brewing well-recognised flagship beers and one-off specials ranging in style from mild and ESB to sours and big IPAs, across cask, keg and can. Based in St Philips, at the heart of the East Bristol Brewery Trail, we care deeply about building our community and creating good chemistry in its broadest sense.
We have developed a strong home market in Bristol over the last nine years, built around some fantastic local customers including our two pubs, The Good Measure and the Kings Head.
We have recently invested in a significant phase of growth and the new Sales Lead will be key to executing our plans, both in the long and short term.
YOU:
You will work with the Directors and alongside Brewing and Operations to apply your sales skills, market analysis and industry experience to develop and execute a solid growth strategy. You will be responsible for developing new customer relationships, caring for our current customers and increasing our profile and reach locally as well as across the country.
We are looking for someone positive and approachable, who is interested in the details and data necessary to build and successfully implement a robust sales strategy. You are a capable and dynamic team member ready to make a big impact. Your strong negotiation and closing skills bring a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop direct relationships with key accounts and new customers to maximise value and grow volume
- Implement an informed, evidenced sales approach, which targets efficient sales and profitable growth with customers that share our values
- Analyse sales to identify and anticipate trends to meet customer demand
- Take an active role in planning the brew schedule and beer line-up, using your direct knowledge of what our customers want
- Work with the Directors to set sales strategy and growth targets
- Report regularly to Directors to review sales performance and adjust sales strategy
- Represent Good Chemistry Brewing with professionalism, knowledge and passion at nationwide events including some evenings and weekends
Core Skills and Experience
- At least 2 years experience leading sales in a relevant context, preferably a modern brewery
- Experience motivating and developing sales staff to achieve and exceed agreed targets
- Ability to set out sales strategies to meet growth targets in line with our brand values
- Analytical skills to interrogate and interpret sales figures
- Attention to detail and an understanding that sometimes it’s the little things that matter
- A passion and enthusiasm for beer, with an extensive knowledge of beer styles and the wider industry
- An ability to collaborate and build relationships, using your network within the industry to bring in new ideas and best practice
- A collaborative working style to ensure a cohesive approach between sales, marketing and brewing
- The flexibility and willingness to pitch in in all areas of the brewery that is necessary in a small business
- An outgoing personality with the ability to build relationships and positively represent the business
- Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
- Full clean driving licence, and over 25 years of age for van insurance purposes

Salary is dependent on experience and we have an open mind on the starting level – we recognise the scope of this job is suited to someone with senior level experience. This is a full-time position (40 hours a week). We would like you to start as soon as possible.
