Brewer required

Us: For just over three years Good Chemistry Brewing has been making beer in Bristol. As demand for our beers increases, we are looking to grow our team. We are a 10BBL brewery, brewing a range of beers to cask and keg. Based in St Philips, at the heart of the East Bristol Brewery Trail, we care deeply about building our community and creating good chemistry in its broadest sense.

We are seeking an experienced brewer to join us and take on responsibility for brewing and packaging our beer. We’re a small close-knit team, looking for someone who shares our values, loves the process of making beer, knows the importance of getting the details right and seeks satisfaction in constant improvement.

Previous brewing experience is an essential requirement for this role.

Core Duties:
Solo Brewing – Responsible for the brewing process, from weighing out ingredients to filling the fermenters
Testing and Record Keeping – Complete fermentation tracking, forced fermentation tests, pH, DO, and any other testing required
Packaging of finished beer to keg and cask
Working closely with the Head Brewer to ensure the production, packaging & warehousing of our beer in line with the production schedule

Day-to-day activities include:
Brewing to schedule – With a willingness to work flexible hours
Packaging finished beer to keg and cask
Weighing & measuring ingredients
Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely
Monitoring the brew process and making accurate records from start to finish
Dry hopping beers according to recipe
General brewery maintenance and house-keeping
Washing and cleaning casks
Attending beer festivals and events, acting as an ambassador for Good Chemistry Brewing
Any other relevant duties that are required of you

A desire to contribute to the successful growth of one of Bristol’s up-and-coming new breweries

This is a full-time position. Salary is based on experience.
